INDIANAPOLIS — WNBA rookie phenom Caitlin Clark recently offered a lighthearted update on her famous friends Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, subtly commenting on the couple’s retreat from the public eye while hinting at a possible courtside appearance at an Indiana Fever game.
In an interview published Wednesday by USA Today, Clark was asked whether the global superstar duo would be catching a Fever game this season. Her response? Humble, hopeful — and just enough to spark a buzz.
“Oh gosh, I don’t know,” Clark said with a smile. “I mean, I hope so.”
The 23-year-old athlete added that Swift and Kelce seem to be enjoying some much-needed downtime. “I feel like they’re also living — they’re in vacation mode right now,” she said. “So I hope they enjoy a nice little break out of the spotlight. But I’m sure they’ll be cheering for the Fever either way.”
Clark’s friendship with Swift began last November when the Iowa legend attended two back-to-back Eras Tour shows at Lucas Oil Stadium. Watching from a private suite, Clark had the chance to meet Kelce and Swift’s mother, Andrea — a moment she later described as unforgettable.
The pop icon surprised Clark with four bags of Eras Tour merchandise and a handwritten letter expressing excitement about potentially attending one of her WNBA games. Swift and Kelce, both 35, even extended a personal invitation for Clark to attend a Kansas City Chiefs game.
She gladly accepted — showing up for the AFC Championship at Arrowhead Stadium in January. The cameras caught Clark and Swift cheering together and hugging in a VIP suite after Kelce’s touchdown against the Texans — a moment that quickly went viral.
Reflecting on the experience during a later podcast appearance, Clark called it “incredible,” praising the warmth and kindness of both Swift and Kelce.
Since the Chiefs’ disappointing loss in the 2025 Super Bowl, the couple has kept a low profile. However, they were recently spotted together celebrating Mother’s Day in Philadelphia — a rare public sighting that fans were quick to notice.
As for a Swift-Kelce appearance at a Fever game? It remains to be seen. But if Caitlin Clark has anything to say about it, they’ve got a standing invitation — and a whole arena of fans ready to welcome them.
